Problem: "Can not type Vietnamese characters " in MS Publisher 2000
Solution*: Edit file VNI.INI locate in Windows folder (C:\WINDOWS or C:\WINNT if your windows is NT or 2000)

Step-by-step Guide:

Run NOTEPAD or any Text Editor to open file "vni.ini" (in Windows or WINNT folder)
I/ Locate section [SpecCode32]

  1. Insert a line "Microsoft Publisher=32" right after [SpecCode 32]
  2. Select "File then Save"
Example:

[SpecCode32]
Microsoft Publisher=32
Cardfile=4
CompuServe=4
ClarisWorks=2
Excel=4
Labels Unlimited=2
QuarkXPress=2
WordPad=4
Write=4
Microsoft Works=64
Printshop Deluxe=2

Note: Microsoft Publisher=32 should work OK with Publisher 2000. If it still does not work with "=32" then you can start any number of:
=1,= 2, =4, =8, =16, or =64
