What Is Ong Do?

Ong Do Is a Vietnamese Calendar on Your Desktop

Ong Do is a calendar with both western and lunar dates, spanning 149 years from the year 1901 (Tan Suu) to 2049 (Ky Ty). You use it just as you use an ordinary block calendar -- “hang” it on your computer desktop and look at it any time you want to check on or locate certain dates, to mark important days, or to jot down some notes, etc.


A Friendly Calendar

Unlike the physical page of an ordinary block calendar, the Ong Do calendar page can be resized any time. You can make it larger to view easily or smaller to save space for other desktop items.




Conventional holidays of the place where you live and your personal memorial days can be updated easily, so you may edit and save important dates right on the calendar for reference. Ong Do lets you remember important days in lunar dates, too.




You may change the background pictures and the textual colors at any time to suit your desire. Ong Do can also cycle through a user-defined series of pictures to display a different background each day, so it seems you can view the entire album of your fa mily pictures through out the year!

A Calendar with Plug-in Capability

Ong Do is a program on which new features can be gradually added.

We, VNI and its partner companies and programmers, will go on developing plug-ins to supplement Ong Do. Since they are added features to a calendar, these products are naturally designed to enhance your daily activities, which include task scheduling, app ointment keeping, exams reviewing, etc. Ong Do and its plug-ins will make your time spent at your computer much more enjoyable and fun.

Getting Familiar with Ong Do

  1. Press F1 any time you need help on using Ong Do.
  2. Ong Do is bilingual on its interface: English and Vietnamese. To use English, open the system menu and select English Day/Month Names.
