A: VNI Company issues the Key disk with each software package to limit the number of machine installation for end user and to prevent piracy or illegal copy causing financial damages to VNI and difficulties in creating and developing more products in the future. |
| Q: 3 - How does VNI software manage the tokens in Key disk during the installation process? A: When installing VNI software into a computer system the first time, during the installation process, the program will ask the user to put the Key disk into the floppy disk drive and retrieve one token from there. After the first installation, your key disk will only be taken one token. From now on, if you re-install the same software in the same computer system, the program will not take any token from your Key disk. For example, your Key disk has a total of 5 tokens. | Q: 4 - How does VNI software manage the tokens in Key disk during the un-installation process? A: To recover back the Token from your computer system into the Key disk, during the un-installation process, insert your key disk into floppy disk drive when the program requests. After the un-installation process, one token will be put back into the Key disk. For example, after using the software in Windows 98 for a while and you want to format hard disk to upgrade your system to Windows XP, you will want to retrieve back the token from computer system back to Key disk. During the un-installation process, you insert the key disk into floppy disk as the program requested and the token in your computer system will be recover back 1 Token into your Key disk. | Q: 5 - What should I do if after using VNI Software for while the program does not run properly or displays some error messages? A: If VNI Software does not run properly in your computer system after using it for a while because some files in the system have been accidentally deleted, not found or corrupted caused by users or systems, please quit all VNI currently running program and then using your VNI CD-ROM and Key disk to reinstall the program into your computer system again. In this re-installation times, the program will also ask for the Key Disk for verifying only and will not take any extra Token from your Key disk. | Q: 6 - Do I lose an extra token if I install the same software into the same computer system at different times? A: If your computer system is still in the same configuration without any upgrading or formatting of the hard disk, the token will be retained safely in your computer. Installation the software at another time, the program will ask for the Key disk to verify. If it checks and finds that your computer system already has the token, it will not take any extra token from your Key disk, but will then continue to overwrite all new files into your system. |
| Q: 7 - What can I do when my floppy disk drive can not read the Key disk or the Key disk is bad? A: If your computer system can not read the Key disk or the Key disk is bad, VNI company will replace with a new one as long as you return it to VNI Company by mail. | Q: 8 - Do I have any chance to lose the token in my computer system? A: As long as your computer hard disk is not crashed, formatted or upgraded to a different operating system, your token will be retained safely in the computer system. Usually, VNI Software will detect and will not take any Token from your Key disk if you re-install the software.
